Cultural Tourism

Cultural Tourism gives people from all different cultures around the world to visit and learn of others. Being able to freely explore the rich diversity of human cultures is eye opening for many. 

Some of the many things to learn about during a cultural tourism holiday are;

  • Heritage,
  • Language,
  • Art,
  • Food.

If heritage is what you are looking for, then there are thousands of heritage sites including UNESCO. There are 1,100 sites worldwide that include ancient cities, monuments and natural wonders.

 

Festivals are another main focus for cultural tourism. Music festivals give tourists a taste of the local music as well as bringing in artists from all over the globe to experience their local culture in a different place. Some music festivals include Coachella (America), TRNSMT (Scotland) and Tomorrowland (Belgium). If it isn't music culture you are looking for, then there are more festivals that give an insight to history, religion and remembrance. Such festivals include Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead), Diwali or the Carnaval street festivals in Brazil. Every Festival has it's own unique experience and reasoning behind it. That's what makes them so intriguing as there is lots to learn and do.

 

In order to get a deeper connection to the culture, learning the local language will go a long way. Understanding and being understood by the locals will help you extraordinarily. All the different languages show the diversity of every region in the world. There are around 700 spoken languages around the world with about 300 different systems of writing. 

 

With advancements in technology, you are able to experience all different cultures from the comfort of your own home, however, culture is something that needs to be experienced in person with the local people to get the full picture. 

 

There are 63 different type of cuisines in the world. One of the best ways to understand a countries culture is to eat there food and drink their drinks. For example, Italian, Indian, Chinese and Japanese. Italian mainly consists of wine and pastas. Indian are known for the wide variety of curry. China known for there rice dishes or noodles. Finally, Japanese cuisine is notorious for it's sushi.
